We announce the death of Michael Joe Dechert of Junction, Texas, born in Fredericksburg, Texas, who passed away on October 13, 2026, at the age of 73. Michael will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, El Roy and Billie Dechert; his siblings-in-law, Donna Dechert and Howard Johnson; and his nephew Andrew Gonzales.
He is survived by: his wife Debby Dechert; his children, Mindy Carrington of San Antonio and Ryan Dechert (Santos Perales) of San Antonio; his grandchildren, Skylar Silva of Junction, Chrishauna, Shannon and Darius Carrington of Kerrville; his great grandchild Eryn Michael Lopez; and his siblings, Susan Johnson, Jerry (Caroline Dechert) and Liz Dechert. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Kimble Funeral Home (1010 College St, Junction, TX 76849).
