It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Opal L. Childress (Junction, Texas), who passed away on June 15, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Thelma Proctor Welch and Jesse Vernon Welch; her husband Conway Childress; her children, Yogi Childress and Dena Cobble; and her siblings, Dene Wimberley, Evelyn Jo Davis, Vergi Robbins and Clifton Welch.
She is survived by: her children, Teresa Edgar, Steven Childress, Scherri Childress and Angie LeBouef; her grandchildren, Corey Childress (Vanessa), Justin Childress, Devere Edwards, Jason Edgar, David Edgar, Aryn Gibbons, Anna Kroeker, Larry Cobble, Chelsea Swarthout, Carsyn LeBouef, James LeBouef, Matthew LeBouef, Courtney Baker, Jacob Childress and Kayleigh Childress; and her sister Janet Dawson. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.
