She was predeceased by: her parents, Elum Meissner and Erna Meissner; her husband Lonnie B Shelton; her brother Marvin Meissner; and her children, Linda Arends and Craig Shelton.
She is survived by: her sister Dolores M. Neitsch; her son Lonnie W. Shelton (Cindy); her grandchildren, Sean Arends (Kellie), Amy Wilson (Ben), Kacie Arends and Lance Shelton (Candace); and her great grandchildren, Bonnie, Drew, Annie, Micah, Anderson, Joel, Britt, Avery and Lila. She is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
After retiring in 2005, she enjoyed researching family genealogy and working in her yard, and she volunteered at Katy Christian Ministries until the pandemic in 2021.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be made to Katy Christian Ministries or the Bartlett Activities Center for the preservation of 1909 Bartlett Grammar School (P.O. Box 724, Bartlett, Texas 76511).
