James leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. James’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew James will carry forward his memory in their hearts.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Mason Thompson and Inez Thompson; his brother Robert Thompson; and his nephew Tate Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Ellen; his daughter Mandy Folkerts (Jeff) of Katy, Texas; his grandson Mason Folkerts; his sister-in-law Jane Thompson of Tifton, Georgia; and his nephew Todd Thompson.

A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Second Baptist Church (5757 FM 1463, Katy, TX 77494).
