He was predeceased by : his parents, Ralph Basil and Mildred Saunders Chafa; and his siblings, Michael Gene Chafa and Patricia Chafa Holt. He is survived by : his wife Delinda Chafa of Katy; his daughter Dennise Levikow of Frenchtown, MT; his grandchildren, Arielle Rabichaud, Samuel Elliott Calvillo, Elliott Calvillo, Matthew Calvillo, Glen Chapa, Elise Levikow, Jason Levikow, Brian Spencer, Jasmine Hansen and Chad Spencer; and his pets, Big Jake, Minnie Pearl and Shadow. He is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 at the Memorial Lutheran Church (5810 3rd St, Katy, TX 77493). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, April 23rd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Thabor Lutheran Cemetery (301 E Norris St, Wausa, NE 68786).
