Steve Dukes wrote a sympathy message

“I had the great pleasure to work with Maybelle at Amoco International in Houston in 1979-80, before going overseas to work in the Philippines and Papua New Guinea. Although Maybelle was a newcomer like me, she quickly became part of the 'inner circle', and through her 'connections' she was first to let me on in the 'secret' that 'my upcoming assignment' was going to be in the Philippines. We only had a short time working together, but we were like family and Maybelle was beloved by all.”
