She is survived by: her sons, Nolan Cox (Connie) and Michael Youngs (Geri); her siblings, Jim Gunnels (Jenny) and Cindy Kuehler; her grandchildren, Michael Watson (Amber), Josh Gamez, DesiRai Goble (Kyle), Jocelyn Cox and Joe Maestas (Christina); her great grandchildren, Austin, Lane Watson, Liam, Koen Gamez, Luke, Noah, Angeline and J'Lynn Maestas; her niece Christina Day; and her nephew Jay Gunnels.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Rita's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an organization close to her heart.
