She was predeceased by: her parents, Dalton Richards and Mildred Richards (Wenrick); and her in-laws, John "Jack" and Betty Buhner. She is survived by: her siblings, Judy Neumeier, Andrea Perlinski, Mark Richards and Scot Richards (Lara); her husband John C. Buhner, Jr.; her children, Katie and John; her daughter-in-law Lori; and her grandson John Evan. She is also survived by her siblings, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Sally's honor to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital—a cause dear to her heart.
