He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh McGaughey (Mac) and Lois McGaughey; his brother Richard McGaughey; and his grandson Jonathon Travis McGaughey. He is survived by: his wife Virginia; his sons, Michael McGaughey (Rhonda) and Daniel McGaughey; his grandchildren, Rachel Leeker (Adam), Megan Scharfman (Jonathan), Cate McGaughey, Zachary McGaughey (Kristina), Brylee Black, Bradyn Black (Jadin), Madison Aldaiz (Roman) and Mackenzie Selby (Alex); and his great grandchildren, Travis James'TJ'Leeker, Chloe Aldaiz, Parker Selby and Nia Moses.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 15th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, May 16th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A celebration of life was held on Saturday, May 16th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Keller Church of Christ (205 S Elm St, Keller, TX 76248). A burial will be held on Tuesday, May 19th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery (2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211).
