With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ruth Ellen Chennault (Kennedale, Texas), who passed away on August 23, 2025 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Melton and Ethel Melton; her husband Joe "Cotton" Chennault; and her daughters, Deborah Kaye Shahzada and Patricia Ann Piercy.
She is survived by: her daughter Brandi Merritt; her great grandchildren, Chance Turner, Megan Merritt and MaKaylee Merritt; her niece Deanna Chamberlain; her siblings, Charley "Dee", Betty Melton, Barbara, Bob Murders, JW and Jeanette Melton; Jacey.
In a remarkable testament to her resilience, she never contracted COVID-19, and drove up until her fall in February of 2025.
