He was predeceased by: his parents, John Allen Gillis and Martha Alice Hobbs Gillis. He is survived by: his wife Betty Ann Blue of White Oak; his grandchild Chevy; his daughters, Kelley Cotten (Joe) of Alpharetta and Susan Brooks of Tyler, Texas.; his grandchildren, Jacob Cotten, Minnie of Auburn, Alabama, Colin Brooks, Haley of Tyler, Texas, Emily Cotten of Alpharetta, Georgia and Evan Cotten of Peachtree City, Georgia.; his brothers, John Gillis of Dallas, Texas, Mel Gillis of Anchorage, Alaska and David Gillis (Judy) of Lake Cherokee; Sheila.
In lieu of flowers, the girls are requesting donations be made to LifeCare Health Services -Indigent Fund of Longview, Texas.
