He was predeceased by: his parents, Gene Smith and Dorothy Smith (Hopkins). He is survived by: his wife Joan Anderson; his children, Mark (Lindsey), Lauren (Jody) and Caitlin (Joseph); his grandchildren, Skylar, Easton and Brady; his siblings, Carol (Jerry), Dave (Jan), Ruth (Kevin) and Dan (MaryAnn); and his brother-in-law Jeff (Sandy). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Strawbridge United Methodist Church (5629 Kingwood Dr, Kingwood, TX 77345).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Alan's memory to Strawbridge UMC – Local Mission Outreach.
