He was predeceased by: his parents, Talmadge Hughes and Faye Hughes; his former wife Sadie Allen Hughes; and his wife Nelwyn Irby Hughes. He is survived by: his siblings, Bill, Jack Hughes and Johnnie Johnson; and his children, Julia Kolojaco, Vicki Fisher (Don), Jill Brown (Bob), Jack Hughes and Bill Irby (Vicki). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Woodland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Kirvin Fire Department (P.O. Box 344, Kirvin, Texas 75848).
