He was predeceased by: his parents, Malcom Sanford and Linnie Sanford (Smith); his siblings, Clarence, Johnny, Dan, JC, Clara Vines, Peggy Hardin and Betty Cooper; and his daughters, Lori, Dana and Sonya.
He is survived by: his sibling's children, Edith Cleveland (John), Charlotte Toothman and Steve Sanford; and his close friend Bucky Schroeder (Donna). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
