Wendell leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Wendell’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Wendell will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Alice Sellers Smith and Kenneth H. Smith; and his brother Kenneth O. Smith. He is survived by: his children, Alicia Baumgardner of Kountze, Dwight Smith of Spokane, Washington and Marcy Smith of Covington, Washington; his sisters, Kathleen Dalahite of Kountze and Gwen Smith of Kountze; and his sister-in-law Rosalie Smith of Kountze. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Grace Church (1130 US-69, Kountze, TX 77625). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
