It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara Jean McAfee of Kyle, Texas, born in Polk City, Iowa, who passed away on April 18, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. In bidding Barbara Jean adieu, let us not mourn the silence that now fills the spaces Barbara Jean once occupied, but rather celebrate the vibrant colors she painted upon the canvas of our lives. For while she may have departed from this earthly realm, her spirit remains a beacon of light, guiding us through the darkest of nights.

She was predeceased by : her husband Bob McAfee; and her parents, Mary Ellen Edgerton (Zachary) and William Robert Edgerton. She is survived by : her children, Donald (Mark), Rich, Rod (Julie) and Dianna Barb (Rick). She is also survived by her 4 children, 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 6th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Heartland Church (1212 NW 36th St, Ankeny, IA 50023). A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 6th 2024 at 2:00 PM. A burial will be held on Monday, May 6th 2024 at the Jean Barbara Cemetery - Mt. Hope.
