He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Polston and Alverta McGowan Polston; his siblings, Pearl Dunbar, Finas Polston, Maxine LaFavers, Vontrice Polston, Gilbert Polston, Yvonne Johnson, Joyce Carrender and Leon Polston; and his longtime fishing buddies, Manuel Frausto, Mike Perkins, Ferrel Gentry and Andy Ribera.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Almogabar Polston; his daughter Cynthia Humphrey (Kevin); his grandchildren, Kevin D. Humphrey (Allison), Julia Humphrey and Andrew Humphrey (Carmina); and his great grandchildren, Moriah Spencer, Isaiah Spencer, Liam Humphrey, Walker Humphrey, Al Ortiz, Sergio Bribiesca, Luis Escelante, Robert Adams and Dan Cisneros. He is also survived by neighbors and friends, as well as nieces and nephews and a few cousins.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Weed Corley Fish Funeral Home (2620 S Congress Ave, Austin, TX 78704). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Assumption Cemetery (3650 S I-35 Frontage Rd, Austin, TX 78704).
