We announce the death of Melroy G. Berger (La Grange, Texas), who passed away on June 29, 2026, at the age of 94. Melroy will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Berger and Adela Berger (Kainer); his wife Rose Berger; his son David Berger; his sister Mae Ann; his brother-in-law Alvin Kleihege; and his siblings, Dennis Berger and Yvonne Berger.
He is survived by: his children, Betty Moser (Pete) of Brookshire, Cathy Simmons (Jay) of Katy and Kenneth Berger (Becky) of La Grange; his grandchildren, Andrew Berger (Jennifer), Joshua Berger (Bethany), Elizabeth Kristoff (Adam), Brian Berger, Lauryn Brinkley (Jason), Lindsey Burks (Nathan), Dylan Moser (Mollie), Allison Ferro (Mark), Elyse Simmons and Jillian Simmons; his great grandchildren, Braxton Berger, Haylee Mitchell, Hannah Mitchell, Bexley Berger, Ashtyn Berger, Cullen Berger, Bowen Berger, Teagan Berger, Aiden Sump, Ava Brinkley, Aubrey Burks, Harper Burks, Scarlett Burks, Charlotte Moser and Greyson Ferro; his sister-in-law Gladys Muras of Dubina; and his close friend Nancy Berger of LaGrange. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
