We are sad to announce that on November 29, 2025, at the age of 95, Billie Faye Henry-Murray (La Marque, Texas) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Beatrice Henry and William Henry; her husband Douglas Lee Murray; her grandson Douglas Johnson; her sister Lee Ruth Henry; and her son Douglas Johnson.

She is survived by: her daughter Chappelle S. Hobson; her grandson Jerald Johnson; her son Jerald Johnson (Joyce); her grandchildren, Greg Benefield (Danna), Paris Johnson, London Johnson (Rosaida) and Juliette Johnson; and her great grandchildren, Kaily Johnson and Cali Johnson.

Visitation was held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the McKinney Memorial United Methodist Church (1607 Nashby St, La Marque, TX 77568). A memorial service was held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Houston National Cemetery (10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038). She faithfully attended many Annual Methodist Conferences until the COVID-19 pandemic.

“To Chapelle, Gerald Jr. and family and friends, I offer my sincere condolences. I had Mrs. Billie Faye as my 1st grade teacher at Booker T Washington Elementary in Texas City. She was firm but fair. An excellent teacher. I remember her at Galilee United Methodist Church as the Sunday School Superintendent, Communion Steward, Choir member, United Methodist Women's Missionary Society. She was a faithful servant. She will be missed. I found out that she had passed just last night, 12/11/25.”
