He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira H. Smith and Lela Mae Smith (Collier); and his granddaughter Dakota Hopper. He is survived by: his wife Celeste Smith; his children, Robby Smith (Eugenia), David Smith (Jamie), Tammy Gillam, Shannon Soto (Ernest) and Heather Walter; his stepson Shawn Hohertz; his siblings, Debra Brown (Tony) and Glen Smith (Tina); his parents-in-law, Oscar and Margie Saldivar; and his siblings-in-law, Valerie Chavez (Juan), Melinda Paredez (Mando), Starla Salazar and Oscar Saldivar (Kelsey). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
