He is survived by : his children, Derek Bowers of Lake Jackson, Dianne Swindle (Todd) of Lake Jackson and Denise Echols (Mark) of Angleton; his grandchildren, Haylee and Laynee Echols; his great grandchildren, Ainsley and Landon Craimer; and his stepgrandsons, Joshua, Caleb and Nathan Swindle. He is also survived by 11 step-great grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends.
