She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Foster Earl and Syble Jewell Earl (Griffin); her brother Thomas "Tommy" Franklin Earl; her former husband James Edgar "Jimmie" Shannon Jr.; her husband Lige "Ed" Powers; and her friend Dorothy Melton Slaten of Whitesboro.
She is survived by: her daughter Rudd of Lake Jackson; her grandson Jacob Connor "Jay" Rudd of Austin, TX.; her daughter Janet Sue Shannon (Shannon); her close friends, Barbara Davis, Jeanie Mauer, Elvira Martinez of Spring and Barbara Anders of Lake Jackson; and her friends, Beverly Smith Cuellar (Wilbourn), Bobbie Bowman, Dottie Hensel, Jackie Landreth, Joyce Cornett, Ester Williams and Jo Ann Johnson.
