He was predeceased by: his parents, O. L. Shadden and Betty Shadden; his brother Jerry Lee Shadden; and his nephew Jerry Lee Shadden II (Doc). He is survived by: his wife Pat Shadden; his daughter Kemberlee Lovell; his grandchildren, Cody Lovell, Ellie, Carson and Coy Lovell; his nieces, Sarah Shadden Halawein and Jerri Lee Elizabeth Shadden; his stepchildren, Lisa Duke (Todd) and Larry Flippo (Karen); and his stepgrandchildren, Dylan Duke (Casey), Dalton Duke (Dennis), Kamryn Nash (Wesley) and Kara Vahle (Sean).
