With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Genaro Garcia Sr. of Lamesa, Texas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 28, 2025 at the age of 93. He was predeceased by: his parents, Pedro Garcia and Domitilla Garcia; and his siblings, Juan Garcia, Leandro Garcia, Oralia Zamaripas, Mercedes Lozano and Maria Castillo.
He is survived by: his wife Rose Cantu; his children, Lupe Garcia, Alfredo Garcia (Delia), Essie Kneisley (Claude), Genaro Garcia, Jr. (Elizabeth) and Melinda Gonzales (Joe); and his sisters, Aurelia Rodriguez, Marcella Garza, Isabel Lopez (Chavela) and Juana Gonzales. He is also survived by his 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Friday, May 30th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM at the Gonzales Funeral Home (310 S Main Ave, Lamesa, TX 79331). A rosary was held on Friday, May 30th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel (310 S Main Ave, Lamesa, TX 79331). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at 2:30 PM at the St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church (908 S 2nd St, Lamesa, TX 79331).
