It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joel Hernandez (Lamesa, Texas), who passed away on November 24, 2025, at the age of 49, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Gregorio, Julia Hernandez, Agapito Reyes (AR) and Eva Alonzo. He is survived by: his wife Lucinda Lugo Hernandez of Lamesa, TX; his children, Gabriel Hernandez, Eliseo Lugo and Daisy Hernandez; his son-in-law Dubb; his daughter Jasmine Hernandez (Jacinda Hernandez) of Lamesa, TX.; his son-in-law Eric; his parents, Abel Hernandez and Sylvia Hernandez of Lamesa, TX.; his siblings, Idina Phillips and Caleb Hernandez; his grandchildren, Zarian, Jeremiah, Evan, Zadrian, Josiah, Bryson, Zaiden, Jonah, Niko, Riko, Yzel, Justice, Liberty, Lilly, Hopey and Penelope; Jamarr. He is also survived by numerous relatives and friends.
Viewing was held on Friday, November 28th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM at the Gonzales Funeral Home (310 S Main Ave, Lamesa, TX 79331). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 28th 2025 at 7:00 PM and on Saturday, November 29th 2025 at 10:00 AM.
