He was predeceased by: his parents, Retha Welborn and Jessie Welborn; his wife Bernice Brandon; and his siblings, Clarence, Amos Welborn, Patsy White and Opal Norton.

He is survived by: his daughters, Raylene (Don Gleghorn), Shirley (Calvin Smith) and Sue (Jerry Bennett). He is also survived by six grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
