It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Gentry (Lamesa, Texas), born in Slaton, Texas, who passed away on February 20, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Wesley Gentry and Willie B. Gentry (Cloninger); his former life partner Gwen; his brothers, Jerry and Tommy; his son Van; and his grandson Samuel Richard Gentry.

He is survived by : his wife Sally Becker Gentry; his children, Arlan (Lisa) of Lubbock and Kayla (Corey Lindsey) of College Station; his grandchildren, Wes Gentry (Kayla) of Sioux Falls, SD, Cooper (Jocelyn), Caleb Gentry of Lubbock, Karley White (Wesley) of Ft. Collins, Connor Lindsey and Kendra Lindsey; his great grandchildren, Marshall Gentry and Carter Gentry; his brother Travis (Geraldine) of Floydada; and his sister-in-law Ella Mae Gentry of Lubbock. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
