She was predeceased by: her husband Homer Gene Smith; her parents, Chappell Brazell and Gertrude Brazell; and her sister Barbara Denning. She is survived by: her daughters, Pollianne Smith, Jill Smith Rodríguez (Raul) and Debbie Smith Collier (Gary); her grandchildren, Benjamin Rodríguez, Tyler Ferguson, Marisa Rodríguez, Meaghan Collier (Cody Crouch) and Mandi Collier; her sister Hollis Fern Brazell McGarity; her pet Mandy; and her caregiver Teresa DiGiacomo. She is also survived by daughters, a son-in-law and three grandchildren.
