He was predeceased by: his wife Lydia Stockbridge Flanery; his father John Harris Flanery; his nephew Anthony Lynn Flanery; and his brother-in-law George Clifford Harper. He is survived by: his mother Mary Louise Flanery; his daughter Alicia Z Millican (Sean); his siblings, Regina Gay Burton (Brent) and Mark Anthony Flanery (Billie); and his grandchildren, Mckenna, Landry, Camden, Stratton, Scout and Sadie.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in Ricky's name to the American Cancer Society.
