It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Amparo P. Cantu (Laredo, Texas), who passed away on March 31, 2024, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Ruben Cantu; her parents, Carlos Puente and Luciana Puente; and her siblings, Carlos Puente, Juan A. Puente and Elia P. Garza.
She is survived by: her children, Melissa Cantu (Santiago Vela), Ruben Cantu Jr. (Lyli Aranda) and Christian Cantu; her grandchildren, James Vela, Janelle Vela-Pineda (Ivan Pineda), Julianne Vela, Jasmin Cantu and Andrew Vela; her stepgrandson Luis Castillo III; her great grandchild James Ivan Pineda; and her siblings, Yolanda P. Lopez and Oscar Puente. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
