It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elma Gamez (Laredo, Texas), who passed away on April 27, 2020, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Miguel Gamez Sr. (Elma); her parents, Eliseo Salinas and Octavia Salinas; her daughter Irma Herrera; and her grandchildren, Melissa Chapa and Israel Herrera.

She is survived by: her children, Juan Gamez (Cecilia L.), Miguel Gamez Jr. (Gabriela V.), Elma G. Chapa (Hector Jr.), Fernando Gamez (Cleotilde) and Mario Gamez (Gabriela T.); her son-in-law Roger Herrera; her grandchildren, Jessica Mayberry (Matt), Johnny Gamez, Jeanette Gamez, Laura Gamez, Carolina Gamez, Elma Lydia Chapa, Hector Chapa III (Tanya), Fernanda I. Gamez, Chloe Campbell (Brandon), Tabitha Gamez, Mary Elizabeth Gamez and Marcos Gamez; her siblings, Gilberto Salinas (Guadalupe), Edalio Salinas (Minerva) and Elia Salazar (Francisco); and her cousin Alicia Guerrero (Humberto). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
