He is survived by: his wife Consuelo Flores López; his children, Elmo López, Jr. (Sara), Linda Howland (Doug), Cristina Aldrete (Eddie) and Jose Humberto "Beto" López (Bertha); his grandchildren, Veronica Sandoval (Jorge), Amanda López, Elmo Daniel López, Andrew Howland, Alexandra Howland, Cristian Aldrete, Diego Aldrete, Andrea Aldrete, Leopoldo Humberto "Beto" López, Ana Victoria López and Laura Cecilia López; his great grandchildren, Viviana, Jorge Sandoval, Jr. and Elmo; and his sisters-in-law, Gloria López and Anastasia López. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.

During this COVID-19 pandemic, gathering together at his funeral is still too risky.
