He is survived by : his wife Elsa Reyna Gonzalez; his sons, Ernesto Gonzalez, Edgardo Gonzalez and Eduardo Gonzalez; his grandchildren, Jennifer Eve Gonzalez, Nicole Gonzalez, Matias Ortega Gonzalez and Sebastian Ernesto Gonzalez; and his siblings, Maria Del Rosario Solis (Pedro), Laura Smith (Juan), Ana Maria Valadez (Hector Cecilio) and Jesus Gonzalez.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 10th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services (1320 Trey Dr, Laredo, TX 78041). A rosary was held on Wednesday, April 10th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 11th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Patrick Catholic Church (555 E Del Mar Blvd, Laredo, TX 78041). A burial was held on Thursday, April 11th 2024 at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery (3600 McPherson Ave, Laredo, TX 78041).
