He was predeceased by: his parents, Leopoldo H. Serna and Guadalupe Serna; and his daughter Selina Serna. He is survived by: his wife Estela Serna; his children, Kristina Serna (Erlin Melgar) and Ernesto Serna Jr. (Esmeralda); his grandchildren, Andres Quinones III, Audrey Brianne Quinones, Regina Alessandra Melgar, Mark Iruegas, Alejandro Hernandez, Jordan Devon Serna and Jayden Eli Serna; and his children, Jesus Serna (Bertha), Victor Serna (Susana), Yolanda, Patricia, Blanca Cantu (Roberto), Maria Antonieta Cantu (Juan), Magdalena, Delia (Angel) of Leon, Leopoldo Serna (Juana), Mary Benavides (Rodolfo) and Javier Serna. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
