We are sad to announce that on December 9, 2025, at the age of 78, Gilberto Reyes Ortiz in Laredo, Texas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Gilberto may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He is survived by: his wife Rosa Lopez of Reyes; and his children, Jose Gilberto Reyes Lopez, Rosa Isela Reyes and Zayda Isabela Reyes. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Rose Garden Funeral Home (2102 US-83, Zapata, TX 78076). A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Zapata County Cemetery (642 FM 496, Zapata, TX 78076).
