He is survived by: his wife Lucia Guardiola; his daughter Diana Laura Guardiola (Gregorio Padilla); his grandchildren, Aiden Christian Padilla and Abigail Catarina Padilla; and his siblings, Luis Guardiola (Dora), Tony Guardiola (Maricela), Maria Luisa Soler (Ulises), Ricardo Guardiola (Laura) and Aida Puig (Michael). He is also survived by other family members and friends.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services (1320 Trey Dr, Laredo, TX 78041). A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 9:00 AM at the San Luis Rey Catholic Church (3502 Sanders Ave, Laredo, TX 78040). A burial was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Laredo City Cemetery (3200 N Meadow Ave, Laredo, TX 78040). A rosary was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 7:00 PM.
