He was predeceased by: his parents, Santos Zapata and Maria Calzada. He is survived by: his wife Juana Zapata; and his children, Margarita Zapata, Jose D. Zapata, Luz Ayala (Miguel), Maria Elena Zapata, Juan Antonio Zapata, Consuelo Zapata and Adela Vasquez. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, numerous siblings, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services (1029 Bob Bullock Lp #1, Laredo, TX 78043). A rosary was held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the same location.
