He was predeceased by: his parents, Alejo Zamarripa and Concepcion Zamarripa; his daughter Ernestina Martinez; his grandson Justin Lara; and his siblings, Jose Dolores Zamarripa, Leandro Zamarripa, Alejo Zamarripa, Ramon Zamarripa, Manuel Zamarripa, Maria Guadalupe Solis and Maria Concepcion Serna.

He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth M. Zamarripa; his children, Elsa Zamarripa (Manuel Soto), Juan Zamarripa Jr. (Violeta) and San Juanita Charles (Alejandro); and his brother Pablo Zamarripa. He is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
