She was predeceased by: her husband Nicholas Douglas; and her parents, Eleuterio and María (Angeles Acosta). She is survived by: her daughter María; her sister Esperanza Castillo; and her nieces and nephews, Edward Lightner (Alejandra), Patricia Lightner, Helen López of Oscar Lightner, M. D., Hortensia Castillo Carey (Jay), Patty Castillo Acosta, Esperanza Castillo Acosta (Ricardo), Fabiola Castillo Acosta, Claudia Castillo Acosta, Ana Luisa Martínez (Homero), María, Angeles Treviño, Isabel C. Hinojosa (Miguel Ángel), Martha B. Ortiz (Leon Xavier), Rodolfo Treviño Acosta and Julia María Lozano (Esteban). She is also survived by other loving relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Joe Jackson Heights Funeral & Cremation Service (719 N Loring Ave, Laredo, TX 78040). A rosary was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 8:30 AM at the Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the San Luis Rey Catholic Church (3502 Sanders Ave, Laredo, TX 78040). A burial was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 10:15 AM to 10:30 AM at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery (3600 McPherson Rd, Laredo, TX 78040).
