He was predeceased by: his parents, John Brown and Geneva Brown; his brother Roger Brown; his parents-in-law, Irma Louise King and Charles Claybourne King; and his siblings-in-law, Richard Allen King, James Lloyd King, Jim Van Scyoc, Benny Quiseng, Harry Forenz, Wilma King and Ferris King.
He is survived by: his son Daniel; his sister Sydney Joyce Van Scyoc; his wife Peggy Brown; his son Nathan Brown; his daughter-in-law Florinda Brown; his grandchildren, Ilán and Joaquín Brown; his nephews, Russell Brown and Scott Van Scyoc; his niece Sandra Van Scyoc; and his siblings-in-law, Charles Raymond King, Gerald Floyd King, Randall Wayne King, Dennis Wayne Emory, Dennis Nettles, Brian Rice, Randy Alsop, Vivian Brown, Linda Lou Quiseng, Mary Eleanor Forenz, Catherine Joyce Emory, Georgia Lynn Nettles, Jeanie Gayle Rice, Janet Sue Alsop, Marsha Lynn King and Melody King.
In his memory, Leonard's family requests donations be made to the Laredo Center for the Arts.
