He was predeceased by: his wife Bertha Villafranca Abrego; and his parents, Fabian Abrego and Ana Maria Abrego. He is survived by: his children, Denise Luera (Lee), Rosalinda Cruz (Jerry), Mario Abrego Jr. and Daniel Abrego; and his siblings, Ofelia Cantu (Francisco), Josefina Villarreal (Gustavo), Fabian Abrego Jr., Adelina Gaona (Rodrigo), Homero Abrego, Ana Maria Hernandez (Gerardo), Olga Zuniga (Bartolo) and Horacio Abrego (Dolores). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
