He was loved and cherished by many people including : his grandparents, Juan, Aurora Serna and Josefina Rull; his wife Raquel Palacios Serna; his children, Geoffrey Serna (Lily), Samantha Serna and James Serna; his grandchildren, Geoffrey Serna Jr. and Lily Serna; his parents, Manuel Serna and Laura Rull Serna; and his siblings, Manuel Serna Jr. (Emilia), Juan Serna (Raquel) and Susana Aurora Serna Rull. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hillside Funerals & Cremations (310 W Hillside Rd, Laredo, TX 78041). A rosary was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location.
