He is survived by: his wife Maria Guadalupe Chavez; his children, Homar Chavez Jr., Cynthia Martinez (Homero) and Marlene Chavez Gonzalez; his grandchildren, Jorge Martinez, Debanhi Gonzalez, Alan Martinez, Luis Gonzalez, Happi Gonzalez and Israel Gonzalez; and his siblings, Rodolfo Chavez and Guadalupe Gonzalez. He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other retalives and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services (1029 Bob Bullock Loop, Laredo, TX 78043). A rosary was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the same location.
