He was predeceased by: his parents, Antonio Garza and Anselma Garza; his daughter Angelita Carrera (Cesar); and his siblings, Antonio Garza Jr., Arturo Garza, Alejandro Garza and Angelita Peña.
He is survived by: his wife Angelita P. Garza; his children, Teresa J. Almaraz (Ernesto), Raul Garza Jr. (Delia), Diana Lopez (Mauro), Irene Chavez (Francisco) and Ricardo Gabriel Garza (Zeferina); and his sister Ana Maria Bustamante (Juan A.). He is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
