He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose Sanchez and Olga Garcia; his siblings, Jose Sanchez and Rosa Mercado; and his granddaughter Julia Faith Sanchez.

He is survived by: his wife Estela V. Sanchez; his sons, Reynaldo Sanchez (Jeanette), Rolando Sanchez (Regina), Raul Sanchez (Barbara), Javier Sanchez (Beatriz) and Jose Luis Sanchez Jr. (Christina); and his sisters, Diana Vela (Agustin), Antonia Camarillo (Sergio) and Veronica Sanchez (Louie). He is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
