It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Socrates Hilarion Garfias (Laredo, Texas), who passed away on November 14, 2025, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Socrates may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Socrates touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Carmen Elias-Hernandez and Ricardo Garfias-Romero. He is survived by: his daughters, Sonia Garfias, Barbra Garfias and Linda Lalime; his girlfriend Norma Hernandez-Cuellar; and his great grandchild Zoe Malacara. He is also survived by seven loving siblings.
