With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Vernette Carranza in Laredo, Texas, born in Austin, Texas, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Vernette left this world on July 19, 2025 at the age of 80, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Victor Haag and Edna Irene Sandstrom; and her brother David Raetzsch. She is survived by: her husband Dr. Henry Santos Carranza; her children, Denise Nixon Bunk (John Charles) and Jonathan Andrew Nixon; her stepdaughter Mary Jane Thompson; her grandchildren, Samantha Bunk, Davis Bunk, Jonathan Nixon, Sebastian Nixon, Derek Thompson and Kristian Carranza; and her siblings, Carl W. Raetzsch, Betty Saenz and Carla Grant. She is also survived by other relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services (1410 Jacaman Rd, Laredo, TX 78041). A prayer will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the same location.
