He was predeceased by: his wife Anita Cavazos Rodriguez; his sister Amelia Rodriguez; and his parents, Ernesto Rodriguez and Maria Mora Rodriguez. He is survived by: his sons, Carlos Gerardo Rodriguez, Vidal Rodriguez Jr. (Miriam) and Ricardo Rodriguez; and his granddaughters, Brianna Rodriguez and Selena Anissa Rodriguez. He is also survived by numerous cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels (800 Boston St, Laredo, TX 78041). A vigil service was held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Northside Chapels (800 Boston St, Laredo, TX 78041). A Mass was held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the San Luis Rey Catholic Church (3502 Sanders Ave, Laredo, TX 78041). A burial was held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery (3600 McPherson Rd, Laredo, TX 78040).
