He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Dolphus Stephens and Ida Bell Stephens (Cook); his son Joshua Henson; and his sister Clara Nelson. He is survived by: his wife Tammy Stephens of Larue; his children, Crystal Stephens of Athens and Bobby Stephens (Jessica) of Winnsboro; his siblings, Wayne Stephens (Rose) of Conroe, Delores Winkle and Clyde Folmar of Winnsboro; his grandchildren, Constance Kiser, DeMarcus Kiser, II, Trenton Hardy and Rylee Stephens; and his siblings-in-law, Eddie Alexander (Ellie), John Scott Crawford, Rosie Wheeler (Jim) and Beth Wimberly (Wylie). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and a host of friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 4th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home (842 NE Loop 7, Athens, TX 75752). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 5th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, November 5th 2025 at the County Line Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Enhabit Hospice.
