We announce the death of Robert Dale Carney of Ledbetter, Texas, who passed away on July 17, 2026, at the age of 77. Robert will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, H. O. Carney and Verna Mae Carney (Gaskill); his siblings, Billy Carney and Patricia Barton; his nephew Steve Walker; and his parents-in-law, Calvin and Brennice Koether.
He is survived by: his wife Cathy Carney of Ledbetter; his children, Josh (Chelsea Carney), Lee (Lauren Carney) and Caitie (Riley Weishuhn); his grandchildren, Auggie, Hayes, Austen Carney of Elk Grove, Wyatt, Clay Carney of Burnet, Brynlee and Blakely Weishuhn of Columbus; his sisters, Carol (Eddie Kennedy), Pam (Ronnie Walker) and Linda Foley of Ft. Worth; and his brother-in-law Andy Barton of Van Alystne.
Memorials may be made to the Lee County Junior Livestock Show Scholarship Fund or to the charity of one's choice.
